Ahiler Kalkınma Ajansı koordinasyonunda Nevşehir Belediyesi tarafından gerçekleştirilen 2023 yılı UNESCO Yaratıcı Şehirler Ağı başvurusu sonucunda Nevşehir, UNESCO Türkiye Milli Komisyonunca UNESCO Yaratıcı Şehirler Ulusal Listesi’ne Gastronomi Şehri olarak dâhil edildi. Böylece Nevşehir, UNESCO Türkiye Ulusal Listesi’ndeki 6. Gastronomi Şehri oldu.

Doğa harikası peribacaları, eşsiz güzellikteki vadileri ve kaya oyma tarihi yerleşim merkezleri ile Türkiye’nin en önemli kültür turizm merkezlerinden biri olan Nevşehir’in, zengin gastronomi kültürü ve pek çoğu coğrafi işaretli olan yöresel lezzetleri ile Türkiye’nin gastronomi şehirlerinden biri olması için geçtiğimiz aylarda Nevşehir Belediyesi tarafından UNESCO Yaratıcı Şehirler Ağı başvurusu gerçekleştirildi. Ahiler Kalkınma Ajansı koordinasyonunda gerçekleştirilen 2023 yılı UNESCO Yaratıcı Şehirler Ağı başvurusu sonucunda Nevşehir, UNESCO Türkiye Milli Komisyonunca UNESCO Yaratıcı Şehirler Ulusal Listesi’ne Gastronomi Şehri olarak dâhil edildi.

Gastronomi sektörünün büyüklüğü ile dikkat çeken, Türkiye’nin ilk gastronomi lisesine sahip olan ve ildeki üniversitelerde verilen gastronomi eğitimleri ile gastronomi alanında önemli bir konumda olan Nevşehir, böylelikle UNESCO Türkiye Ulusal Listesi’ndeki 6. Gastronomi Şehri oldu.

Özellikle el sanatları ve gastronominin eşsiz bir birleşimi olan Nevşehir Testi Kebabı ile de tanınan ve köftür, pelver, üzüm pekmezi, üzüm turşusu, Kaymaklı kuru kaymağı, Nevşehir kabak çekirdeği, Nevşehir simidi, Nevşehir tava, Nevşehir acılısı, süpürge (bal) pekmezi, Avanos Ayhan patlıcanı, ağ pakla, asma cacığı, Derinkuyu kuru fasulyesi, incir yağlaması, peravu mantı, muhacir mantısı, Ürgüp köfte, aside, dolaz, Ürgüp baklavası, bulamaç, çiğleme, hamursuz ve çömlek peyniri gibi pek çok yöresel lezzete sahip olan Nevşehir bundan böyle gastronomi turizminde de söz sahibi olacak.

Bu arada Nevşehir Belediyesi, 2024 yılı içerisinde uluslararası anlamda da gastronomi şehri unvanı almak için UNESACO’ya yeni bir başvuru yapacak.
